"A river does not rush, yet it reaches the ocean."
CAF Foundation exists to lay strong foundations — guided by rigour, vision, and integrity — for lasting impact across the Democratic Republic of Congo, the diaspora, and the communities we serve.
People are at the heart of CAF Foundation. Our board's diverse talents and deep commitment reflect the very communities we serve — each person contributing to a shared vision of progress, pride, and possibility for Congo's future.
We chose our trustees carefully — not to fill seats, but because each one makes us stronger. Together we bring together expertise in healthcare, political strategy, community justice, and cultural intelligence. We hold ourselves to institutional standards because we are building something that will last.
Strong governance is an act of respect — for the communities we serve, the partners we work with, and the future we are building together.

The Democratic Republic of Congo is the most biodiverse nation on the African continent, the source of some of the world's most important mineral resources, and home to one of its most vibrant cultural traditions. It is also systemically underfunded, underrepresented in global philanthropy, and overlooked by diaspora institutions that lack the formal structures to act.
CAF Foundation exists to close that gap — connecting the knowledge, networks and resources of the diaspora to the grassroots organisations already doing extraordinary work inside the country, while building the institutions that give both sides a home.
Identity · Culture · Heritage · Environmental Preservation · Human Flourishing.
Whether you want to give, partner, or join us as a future trustee or volunteer — we want to hear from accomplished individuals who share our commitment to Congolese communities and rigorous, values-led action.

Abraham Leno is a highly experienced leader in international development and humanitarian response, with more than two decades of work in complex and fragile contexts around the world. A social entrepreneur and human-centred practitioner, he has held diverse leadership and field roles — including programme management, protection, and operational leadership — across South Sudan, Pakistan, Liberia, Ethiopia, Sudan, Guinea, and the Democratic Republic of Congo. He spent over a decade based in the DRC, where he played a central role in developing and expanding the Asili model — an innovative social enterprise delivering essential services such as clean water and primary healthcare through sustainable, community-rooted systems. Today, Asili serves tens of thousands of people and stands as a leading example of dignified, locally driven development. Throughout his career, Abraham has held senior leadership positions across respected organisations in the global development sector. He continues to advise and support institutions committed to advancing more effective, human-centred approaches to development. Deeply committed to the rights and dignity of displaced communities, Abraham brings both lived understanding and professional expertise to his work. A longstanding mentor and supporter of Congolese and Fabulous — since its early days as Young, Congolese and Fabulous — he shares a strong alignment with the Foundation's vision. His leadership reflects a deep belief in local ownership, community strength, and building systems that endure across generations.
